Service updates
NEW STAFF - We are pleased to announce the hiring of new staff members at West Lincoln Public Library! Welcome to Karen Chovance and Katelyn Huizinga to the Public Service Associates team! Please take a moment to say “hi” the next time you visit any one of our library branches.
GOOD FOOD BOX - Place your orders for fresh and affordable produce either in person at the Smithville Branch (cash only) or online at www.linksforgreenerlearning.org. Purchase a large box for $26 or a smaller box for $22. The deadline for orders are March 16 and April 13. Pickup dates are March 22 and April 19.
WLPL MakerSpace - Our MakerSpace has officially launched! Patrons are now able to access our brand-new MakerSpace equipment, featuring: Cricut Maker 3, Ultimaker 3D Printer, sewing and embroidery machines, green screen, button maker and digital converters! Bring your own materials or use ours for a nominal cost. Certification training will be available for any who wish to use the equipment without staff assistance.
March Break - West Lincoln Public Library is the place to be for non-stop fun this March Break! Entertainer “Jim the Spoon Man” has a show with enough jokes to keep the whole family laughing, and our puppet making workshop encourages everyone to put on a show themselves! Drop-in Storytime - Every Saturday from 10:30-11:00 a.m. A drop-in storytime for ages 2-5. Includes a story, a sing-along and sensory activity. Held at all locations on alternating weeks. See website for more details.
Teen Subscription Bags - At the start of every month, teens can register to be provided with a book and the option to review it in either written or video format to earn volunteer hours! Registration required. Recommended ages 13-18.
Paper Bag Princess Day! Saturday, March 4 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Families are invited to join us for storytime as we read the Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch! And stick around after the story for a fun craft where we’ll be making a paper bag dragon puppet!
Geocaching - Monday, March 13 until 8:00 p.m. on March 20. Get hunting during March Break to collect tickets to win prizes! Only one prize per participant—prizes can be claimed at any of our locations.
Caistorville
Caistorville Crafternoon - Every other Saturday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Come spend the afternoon creatively in Caistorville where a craft is hosted by our staff! Recommended for ages 8-12. Registration required.
Virtual Reality Gaming Tournament - Wednesday, March 15 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Join us at the Caistorville branch to participate in our Virtual Reality Gaming Tournament! Test out our new Oculus Quest 2 gaming headset and our collection of fun games! Registration required.
Smithville
Cosplay Club - Friday, March 3 and April 21 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Newcomers and pros alike are welcome. Learn all about costuming with Sarah! Recommended for ages 13-18. Registration required.

Maker Monday - Monday, March 6 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Learn all about our brand new MakerSpace under the guidance of staff. Featuring new activities and projects every other week using our 3-D Printer, Oculus Quest 2 gaming headset, and more! Recommended for ages 8-12. Registration required.
Reading Readiness - Tuesday, March 7 and 21, Tuesday, April 4 and 18 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. A 6-week preschool program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver. Limited space. Registration required.

S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays - Every other Saturday from January 7 to May 27 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m. A science, technology, engineering, art, and math program recommended for children ages 8-12. Registration required.
Pet Portrait Painting - Thursday, March 16 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Participate in a guided art program where you can learn to paint a watercolour portrait of your very own furry friends! Beginner and practiced artists alike are invited to attend for an evening of creativity. Registration required. Recommended for ages 12+

Coffee and Colour - Last Saturday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The name says it all! Come in and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and relax with adult colouring sheets. Drop-in.
Smithville
Stitchers - First and third Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Beginner and skilled quilters are invited to attend this monthly friendship-building program. Registration required. See website for more details.
Knitting Circle - Wednesdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m. - Beginner and skilled knitters and crocheters are invited to attend this weekly social knitting group. Registration required.
Cricut Craft Club - Every other Thursday of the month from 1:00-3:00 p.m. - The Cricut Maker 3 is part of our brand-new MakerSpace! The Cricut is a cutting and drawing machine that will help take your crafts to the next level. Learn to improve your skills with no experience required. New themed craft every month! Recommended for adults and seniors. Registration required. Limited space.
Therapy Tails - Monday, March 20 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Spend the afternoon with our Therapy Tails team, Marion and Wifi! Enjoy a cuddle session and a good book with your new furry friend to unwind after work. Drop-in.
Adult Book Club - Monday, March 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. March features the “One Book, One Niagara” selected novel, Care Of by Ivan Coyote. Physical copies will be available at the Smithville branch. Registration required. Limited space.

Seed Savers Club - Thursday, March 9 and Thursday April 13 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Seed Savers Club meets the second Thursday of every month and is open to anyone interestedin sharing knowledge about growing food! Registration required.
