Orange Shirt Day — Remembering Survivors

Wear your orange shirt on September 30th while you paint rocks in remembrance of the children who did not come home from residential schools. These Remembrance Rocks will be permanently displayed in the Indigenous Healing Garden, located at our Wellandport branch.

Geocaching It’s back! Starting September 10 and running until end of day September 17. Collect tickets to win prizes! Only one prize per participant—prizes can be claimed at any of our locations.

Kids Can Garden! Friday September 16 @ 3:30-4:30 p.m. Inspired by Year of the Garden, you are invited to come and make your own newspaper pot and plant a seed. Ages 8-12. Registration is required.


Reading Readiness September 13 & 21, October 11 & 19, November 8 & 16 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m. A 6-week preschool program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver. Registration is required. Limited space.

Batman Day! Saturday September 17 @ 2-3 p.m. Participate in a scavenger hunt, finding clues to help Batman catch the Penguin who has escaped! Followed by a storytime. Registration is required.

fireman clipartStorytime with a Firefighter/Truck Tour Saturday October 15 @ 1:30-3 p.m. Fire Prevention Week is October 9-15. Take-home activities and a Fire Safety stories display will be available. Drop-in.

Media Literacy for Kids Wednesday October 26 @ 3:30-4:30 p.m. Kids are introduced to the idea that what they see in media can be deceptive. Followed by an interactive game. Ages 6-10. Registration is required.

Pumpkin Painting & Haunted Library Party Monday October 31 @ 3:30-5 p.m. Some fun activities before you head out for a night of trick-or-treating! Wear your costume for extra fun! Registration is required.


S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays Every other Saturday from September 3-November 26 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m. A science, technology, engineering, art, and math program. Ages 8 to 12. Registration is required.

Games Night! September 22, October 20 and November 24 @ 6-7 p.m. Drop-in to play assorted board games.

Cosplay Club Monday September 12, October 17 & November 7 @ 6:30-7:30 p.m. Teens! Learn how to create your own unique cosplay characters, costumes and props.

Teen Book Club Monday September 26, October 24 & November 21 @ 4-5 p.m. September title is Brother by David Chariandy, available in branch or download in ebook and audiobook formats through the Libby app.
