Elf on the Shelf December 1-23 Can you find Bookie, Page and Writer? Everyday until Christmas they will pick a new hiding spot in the library for you to find them! Remember: don’t touch them or they will lose their magic!

We Remember November 11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Join us to make Remembrance Day Poppies and Write a Letter to a Soldier, followed by a story time. Recommended for Preschoolers and Toddlers. Registration required. See website for more details.

A Christmas Crafternoon December 17 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Make special ornaments for your Christmas tree. Recommended for ages 8-12. Registration required

3-D Printer Escape Room December 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The evil Dr. Maker has 3-D printed a jail all around the library! Work together to solve the clues and find the key to the padlock… or be trapped in the library forever! Recommended for ages 8+. Registration required.

Final Countdown! December 30 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. It's the final countdown to 2023! Join us for a paper plate clock craft to help you countdown in style. Followed by a reflective writing activity. Drop-in.

S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays Every other Saturday from September 3 to November 26 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m A science, technology, engineering, art, and math program recommended for children ages 8-12. Registration required. Program will resume in January.

Merry Grinchmas! December 3 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Make a Grinch-themed woodcraft Christmas decoration to hang in your window or on your tree. Recommended for ages 6-10. Registration required.

DIY Pet Projects November 4 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Get crafty with some DIY projects for your pet! November’s project is No-Sew Sweaters. Please bring an old fleecy sweater or pants, as well as your pet’s measurements. Registration required.

Knitting Circle Wednesdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Beginner and skilled knitters and crocheters are invited to attend this weekly social knitting group. Registration required.

Christmas with Cricut Tuesday December 1 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Introducing the Cricut Maker! Part of our brand-new MakerSpace! The Cricut Maker is a cutting and drawing machine that will help you take your Christmas card game to a whole new level. No experience necessary. Recommended for adults and seniors. Internet Safety: Online Holiday Shopping Wednesday November 2 @ 10:30 a.m. Learn some safety tips to help avoid the common pitfalls of online shopping, especially during the busy holiday season. Drop-in.

Seed Savers Club Thursday November 10 @ 6:30 p.m. Windowsill Gardens. Members will discuss growing micro grains and herbs to use in your everyday cooking. Thursday December 8 @ 6:30 p.m. Members are encouraged to bring preserved vegetation from their gardens to create holiday centrepieces and décor.

Virtual Programming

Holiday Tea and Chocolate Friday November 25 @ 6:30 p.m. With only one month until Christmas we invite you to join us for a virtual Tea and Chocolate program featuring tea sommelier Katie Cyr from Monarch Tea Co. The focus will be on holiday themed tea and chocolate pairings. A Zoom link will be provided for you to join at home or you are welcome to come join us at the Smithville branch. Cost per participant is $10. Supplies pick up will occur one week before the program. Registration required.

Painting with Anna Barnhart Tuesday December 6 @ 6 p.m. Join us virtually or inperson at our Caistorville branch to paint a no brush winter landscape with Anna Barnhart from Dabblebag Art.
