Welcome to the WLPL 2026 Reading Challenge!
We are excited to announce our new reading challenge. Each month has a prompt, but you don’t have to read them in order (as long as they are read this year).
- January: Cozy Genre Fiction
- February: Sports Romance or Winter Sport Story
- March: Manga or Graphic Novel
- April: Rain or Storm on the Cover
- May: Diverse Representation
- June: Indigenous Author
- July: Recommended by a Friend or a Staff Pick
- August: Memoir or Non-Fiction
- September: About a Bookstore or Library
- October: Spooky Read
- November: Author of Colour
- December: "New" or "Old" in the Title
How to participate: fill out a tracking sheet which you can download or pick up at any WLPL branch.
You have the whole year to complete the challenge, and since we are starting in February the January prompt is a bonus. Once you have finished, you can submit your tracking sheet to be entered into a small prize draw. Plus, bookish bragging rights!
Open to teens and adults.
Community engagement: You can also track your reads and receive reading suggestions by signing up for the challenge through The StoryGraph or on our Facebook group.
Prompts for each challenge will be shared monthly here, on our social media and on The Storygraph.
